Where the Kudo and Antelope roam.....afraid a leopard lays in wait to eat them! WELCOME TO TANZANIA!
If you are a hunter, and if you have ever leaned against a tree on a warm sunny afternoon and slipped quietly into dream land wondering where you could hunt SIMBA, CHUI, NYATI and PALAPALA...where your days begin with the sounds of KIBOKO surfacing along the river and NDEGE singing a warning that dawn approaches.
Where the sound of tent canvas and the early morning greeting "JAMBO BWANA" can be heard...where the aroma of fire brewed KAHAWA and warm cream fill the darkness of your tent...where a cool breeze beckons you to sit up and breath in clean fresh air....
It's true...this actually exists...it is not a dream. You can really live this one----> ROBIN HURT SAFARIS has been in Tanzania hunting since the turn of the century. One time in your life..at least once.... you need to experience a true East African Safari with the British....it is still done the same way it was done 100 years ago...a proper hunt, as they say...where FAIR CHASE is not a phrase bantered about over a fire...it is a way of life.
Well shooters that is where your host is bound. My wife, Rose Marie, and I try to schedule a Safari every 2 years. Which turns into 3 and sometimes 5....life seems to get in the way. Our last Safari was canceled 2 days before our departure because an emergency call in the night informed us the camp had been come down ill. We were asked to postpone the hunt until the camp could reorganize.
As deeply concerned as we were for the 20 or so members of our camp we followed the advice and stood down....but in our world, probably like yours....a postponement is as good as a cancellation. We had set aside 45 days..a couple of extra days on each end for visiting with friends coming into the bush and leaving. We put the world aside for 45 days and packed our hopes and dreams tightly concealed in leather and ballistic soft luggage. We repacked reopened and removed while we waited.... after a week past without a call we cleared out throats and turned our sights to--->-reality...and returned to our lives to live and dream about the "next time"....
Well the "Next Time" has arrived. For some of you that have been to the bush in Tanzania you know...it's not Colorado, it's not Texas and it's not even Alaska. This is Africa. The Dark Continent. Which simply translates.. "if it can go wrong...it will" coupled with the now all too common expression "AAW"---> Africa Always Wins.
We depart on the 18th of August. our hunt is mixed with some business but we will be back in the USA on or about the end of Sept.
I will try to keep you informed but communication in the bush is questionable....but upon my return I will give you the story! Hey shooters...stay out of trouble and don't let anyone steal my country while I'm gone!
